Personal learning · One-day group workshop

AI for everyday life. Go beyond the chat.

A practical, one-day group workshop for people who have tried chatting with AI and want to do more for themselves. For individuals, friends and community groups, with clear explanations and guided practice.

Learn together, at a welcoming pace

A day to ask, explore and create.

We begin with the group’s interests and concerns. Clear explanations lead into practice, with creative demonstrations in the afternoon.

  1. Morning

    Start with you.

    • Share your interests, questions and what puts you off AI.
    • Explore everyday uses, tools, models and tokens.
    • Try clearer instructions, personalisation and privacy settings.
  2. Afternoon

    See it. Then make it.

    • Watch a creative demonstration, then choose a small project.
    • Build a simple game or a personal website draft with guidance.
    • A few volunteers share what they made and learned.
  3. End of the day

    Make thoughtful choices.

    • Check answers and practise spotting suspicious requests.
    • Discuss benefits, limitations and environmental impact.
    • Choose one useful thing to keep practising.

Lunch and screen breaks are built into the day. We agree the final programme with your group.

Useful for your own life

More possibilities. Better judgement.

Understand the choices

Compare everyday uses and different tools and models. Learn what tokens mean for the information AI processes and how some services measure usage.

Make AI more useful to you

Try clearer instructions, response preferences and reusable prompts. Explore planning, learning, creativity or personal admin using fictional examples.

Know what you are sharing

Look at privacy and model-training settings, what connections to email or files can access, and how to check or remove permissions. Controls vary by tool and account.

Stay curious and check

Question confident answers, look for missing evidence and practise safer responses to scams. Discuss AI’s benefits, limitations and environmental impact without treating it as the answer to every task.

Afternoon creative practice

Choose one thing to build.

After a demonstration, try one small project with guidance. In a larger group, selected volunteers share their work.

A small game

Turn an idea into a simple game you can test and improve.

A personal website

Draft a page about an interest or fictional profile. Try a layout, edit the words and check how it works.

These are learning projects. Public publishing is a separate choice after checks; you do not need to share private information.
