Women are using AI less, but what if that’s not the real problem?

Independent source: WeAreTechWomen

In this opinion piece, Laura Foster questions whether counting AI use misses what matters: judgement, checking and useful results. She argues for understanding differences in how people use AI, rather than treating more frequent use as the goal. This is the author’s perspective, not proof that one gender uses AI better.

Our take · Humantra-AI

AI should widen opportunity, not decide who belongs. It can help beginners try unfamiliar tasks, including building a first website or game, but access alone does not remove barriers. Nobody should be judged simply for using AI, whatever their gender or technical background. Simple tasks are a valid starting point; curiosity still matters. If an answer looks wrong, ask why, check reliable sources and seek help when needed. Before you send or use AI-assisted work, check facts, add missing context and take responsibility for the result. Humantra-AI helps people practise these habits with safe examples and human checks. Are we measuring better work and fair access to learning, or just more clicks?
